Get ready to cheer for The Appleton Ladies’ Potato Race, a warm and witty new Australian comedy-drama from Lynn Hegarty (Ms Fisher’s Modern Murder Mysteries) based on the stage play of the same name by Melanie Tait. The film is set for UK digital on 15 July courtesy of Reel 2 Reel Films.

When Doctor Penny (Claire van der Boom – Blacklight) heads back to her hometown for the famed potato race, she’s outraged that the men’s first prize pays out $2,000 and the winning woman’s prize is only $200. Determined to right the wrong, she ignites a rebellion that rocks Appleton to its core…
