Hello, this is Dom…
From Miracle Media, the documentary, Vinnie Plays Vegas, is having a digital release on 18th August. Here’s what they had to say:
Comedian, celebrity roast extraordinaire and notorious gambler… discover the shocking story of Vinnie Favorito’s rise to fame and jaw-dropping fall from grace in Vinnie Plays Vegas.
Brian Burkhardt makes his directorial debut with this compelling documentary that chronicles the life of Las Vegas comic Vinnie Favorito – once the golden boy of stand-up – until his career was destroyed by a crippling gambling addiction. The film is set to arrive on UK digital on 18 August, courtesy of Miracle Media.
A veteran Las Vegas comedian with two decades of stand-up under his belt, and best known for his unfiltered insult-comedy, the controversial Vinnie Favorito takes no prisoners. His career began in Boston back in 1986 alongside the likes of comedy stars David Cross, Joe Rogan, Nick Di Paolo and Louis C.K., before making his way to Sin City where it transpired Vinnie and Vegas were made for each other, for better or for worse.
Now, Vinnie Plays Vegas takes us behind the persona, documenting the comedian’s rise through the stand-up scene, his lasting Las Vegas residency and descent into a gruelling addiction and loan habit that has left him a notoriously untrustworthy name, not only on the Las Vegas strip but amongst everyone he’s ever met.
Featuring interviews with friends, fellow comics and victims of his scheming, this documentary gives audiences a backstage pass to the Vegas comedy scene and questions whether redemption is on the cards for someone who has hurt so many.
Take a gamble on Vinnie Plays Vegas for an insightful and stark exploration into success, betrayal, loss and whether atonement can be achieved.
Many thanks to Aim Publicity and Miracle Media for providing the images above.
