Hello, this is Dom…

From Reel 2 Reel Films, the mob comedy – Don Q – will be on digital from 15th September. Here’s what they had to say:

What happens when a street hustler thinks he’s a mob boss – only for the real Don to come home? Find out in this slick, crime comedy starring Emmy® winner Armand Assante (Gotti, American Gangster, The Odyssey) as the man, the myth, the legend, Don Q

Assante brings his usual tough guy charm and charisma to this unexpectedly heartfelt mafioso retelling of Don QuixoteChuck Zito (Homefront, Carlito’s Way, Oz), Saundra Santiago (Miami Vice, The Guiding Light), Federico Castelluccio (The Sopranos, El Cantante) and Vincent Pastore (The Sopranos, Revolver) also star. Following its American premiere, Claudio Bellante’s award-winning love letter to mafia movies it set to land on UK digital 15 September, courtesy of Reel2Reel Films.

Feeding off decades of delusion, aging Little Italy resident Al Quinto (Assante) – AKA Don Q – believes himself to be a powerful mafia figurehead, setting out to restore his neighbourhood to its former grandeur.

His increasingly concerned sister, Antonia (Santiago), attempts to bring Al back to reality, but his desperate need to fight the good fight and rule the big streets of Little Italy holds on strong, paired with his imaginary cohort of criminal confidants, there seems to be no way out of his madness.

That is until ruthless ex-con Rocco (Zito) gets out of prison and Al’s mafia fantasy becomes a reality. Between a vicious turf war, a young new protégé and a betrayal from close to home, Al feels his enemies closing in… But will he crack under the pressure, or become the Don he thinks he is?

Meet Don Q, the ultimate final boss.

Many thanks to Aim Publicity and Reel 2 Reel Films for providing the image above.
